Roman Reigns Daily Online

Stamford, Conn. and Rye Brook, N.Y. (October 03, 2019) – WWE and WWE Superstar Roman Reigns are teaming up with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) in the fight against cancer. For Reigns, the cause is personal – he is in remission for the second time from chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). The new partnership with LLS, the world’s largest nonprofit fighting blood cancers, will propel the organization’s comprehensive effort to drive more research and deliver more assistance to cancer patients and families when they need it most, including those battling pediatric cancer.

“My own journey with leukemia inspires me to do whatever I can to help young cancer patients. I know how tough it is to deal with cancer and I want to show people that even someone like me can be knocked down, but with the right treatment and support, we can get back up to fight another day,” said Reigns. “That’s why I’m so honored that WWE and I are helping The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society spread the word about the great work LLS is doing to find new and better treatments for kids and provide financial assistance to families struggling with a cancer diagnosis.”

In the months since his triumphant return from his battle with leukemia, Roman Reigns (real name Joe Anoa’i) has quickly re-established himself as one of WWE’s biggest stars. But the former WWE Champion is also finding new success outside the ring, as he’ll make his Hollywood debut in the upcoming film Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw alongside his cousin, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and Jason Statham on Aug. 2.

As part of the promotion for the release, the film teamed up with Brisk Iced Tea to create a new promotional campaign titled “Cans of Whup Ass,” hearkening back to a line made by Johnson during the films trailer. The campaign included a digital ad made by young creator Evans Alexandre, and stars Roman Reigns as his character from the film.

In an interview with ComicBook.com, Reigns spoke about how impressed he was with Alexandre’s finished product.
