Roman Reigns WWE2K20 Tower Features

by admin/August 23, 2019/No Comments/ 196 views

The Big Dog is on the cover of WWE 2K20, and now, the WWE Universe can relive his biggest moments in the latest edition of WWE’s annual video game series, too.

Now in its sophomore year for the franchise, WWE 2K20’s 2K Towers invites players to take a WWE Superstar or created MyPLAYER into one of several towers, each with a unique gauntlet of matches that boast different challenges, match stipulations and player modifications.

WWE 2K20 will shine a spotlight on Roman Reigns, who shares the game cover with Becky Lynch. In 2K Towers: Roman’s Reign, players will follow The Big Dog through his early days in WWE — including his time as a member of The Shield — to his rivalries with Brock Lesnar, John Cena, The Undertaker and more. Players will compete in 16 matches and live out key chapters in Reigns’ impressive rise through WWE history, all while claiming championships and igniting the WWE Universe along the way. Every match includes a live-action introduction from The Big Dog himself in exclusive, never-before-seen footage.

By JUSTIN BARRASSO August 21, 2019’s Week in Wrestling is published every week and provides beneath the surface coverage of the business of pro wrestling.

How Roman Reigns Is Inspired by Becky Lynch
Roman Reigns and Becky Lynch are the cover stars for WWE 2K20, an accolade only bestowed upon the most elite stars in the business. The honor is not lost on Reigns, particularly after the year he battled through, and he takes additional satisfaction in his cover co-star.

“To share this with Becky makes it even more special,” said Reigns. “To be able to share this past year with her, breaking barriers, I’m pretty proud of that.”

Currently in the midst of a storyline with Daniel Bryan, Reigns also just signed a contract extension with WWE. He is a homegrown, WWE-created star, and his list of accomplishments—including replacing John Cena as the face of the company—is remarkable. He endured a harrowing stretch in the fall of 2018, learning that he needed to go through chemotherapy for a second bout with leukemia. But just like his character in the ring, Reigns—34-year-old Joe Anoa’i—persevered and found a way to defeat a ruthless opponent.

The announcers talk about the Roman Reigns mystery attacker storyline and send us to video package showing the events leading up to tonight. Otunga says a lawyer friend of his told him that Daniel Bryan and Rowan really have done extensive research into the incidents, and have uncovered significant information. Tom says we should know more later tonight.

Buddy Murphy is backstage preparing when Roman Reigns walks in. Reigns says they can do it like they did a few weeks ago or they can talk man to man. Reigns wants to know who Murphy is lying to, him or Daniel Bryan and Erick Rowan. Murphy is pretty sure he saw Rowan. Reigns needs to know more than pretty sure. They have more words and Reigns says if he has to he will come back and beat Murphy’s ass. Reigns walks off.

Daniel Bryan enters the room with Erick Rowan. Bryan tells the mystery man he’s called for Roman Reigns and he doesn’t want Reigns to find out. The mystery man seems worried.

After the last match on Smackdown the camera quickly goes backstage to Roman Reigns entering the room where Daniel Bryan, Erick Rowan and the mystery man are. Bryan takes off the hood and reveals an unknown bearded man who looks just like Rowan. Roman thinks it over and looks confused. Reigns and Bryan exchange looks as Reigns looks at Rowan and then the mystery man a few times. SmackDown goes off the air with Reigns looking confused while the bearded mystery man looks terrified.

We go right to the ring and out comes Roman Reigns to a pop. Cole leads us to a video package on the recent attempted attacks to Reigns.

Dolph Ziggler vs. Roman Reigns

The music hits and out comes Dolph Ziggler as Roman Reigns waits on him.

Ziggler takes the mic and says he wanted to tell Reign face to face – he’s not some Twitter keyboard warrior, he wants to face Reigns like a man, but he’s glad that Reigns is OK. Ziggler says he just doesn’t get why Reigns gets all this attention for accidents almost happening to him, meanwhile… Ziggler is interrupted by a “you suck!” chant. Ziggler says he doesn’t suck, he’s trying to be the bigger man here, so the crowd needs to shut up. Ziggler says Reigns was almost hit by a lighting rig but that’s nothing compared to the Spears he took from WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg. Fans chant for Goldberg and Ziggler doesn’t like it. Ziggler goes on ranting about how bad last week was, and how “it should be me” once again. Ziggler keeps talking and suddenly drops Reigns in the middle of the ring with a superkick.

Daniel Bryan & Rowan address allegations:

Outcomes Daniel Bryan with Rowan.

Bryan says there’s no question that someone is out to get Roman Reigns but they had nothing to do with either of the attack attempts, despite Buddy Murphy falsely accusing Rowan, and accusing Bryan by association. Bryan says they had nothing to do with it and Murphy is a liar. Bryan says he does not blame Murphy because all of the fans would also cave if Reigns had their face pressed against the wall. Bryan says he does not blame Murphy. Bryan says Murphy had to give up a name but the problem is, he gave up the wrong name. Fans chant “it was you!” now.

Bryan start yelling at them for thinking he and Rowan did it. A “yes!” chant breaks out now. Bryan says that’s what is wrong with all of the fans, and what’s wrong with society – someone tells a lie, it gets spread on social media and then it becomes the truth. Bryan hates to disappoint but he and Rowan had nothing to do with the incidents, and tonight they will prove it. Bryan drops the mic and they head to the back.

Roman Reigns vs. Buddy Murphy

We go to the ring and Buddy Murphy waits as Roman Reigns makes his way to the ring to a pop.

The bell rings and they lock up. Reigns takes it to the corner and breaks. Murphy talks some trash and slaps Reigns. Reigns rocks Murphy with a right hand and tosses him across the ring. Murphy charges and drops Reigns with a big knee strike. Murphy with a 2 count. Murphy drops Reigns in the corner and unloads with stomps. Reigns ends up on the floor for a breather.

He’s now a WWE and movie star, but before he became a celebrity, Roman Reigns played for the Edmonton Eskimos.

Reigns, then known as Joe Anoa’i, played in Edmonton in 2008 with now Head Coach Jason Maas.

“It brings back some good memories,” Reigns said. “I was just joking that I used to spend most of my time on the sideline, but it was fun.

That was just my journey,” Reigns continued. “I legitimately thought I was going to be a football player. Even to this day, I’m still stubborn and I’ll say I was pretty good.”

And now Reigns is taking his talents to Hollywood. The wrestling star is in Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw with his cousin, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

“To be there with Dwayne, you know, be a part of that project, part of the Fast & Furious, if you would have told me, you know, when I was sitting on that sideline … I’d say, ‘You’re a liar.'”

Reigns will do the coin toss when the Eskimos take on the Ottawa RedBlacks Friday night.

Samoa Joe is backstage talking to a staffer, who informs him that Roman Reigns is almost here. Joe tells the guy to inform everyone that RAW is now shutdown. Joe walks off to the ring and we go back to commercial.

Reigns doesn’t appear and Joe says that’s fine, we’ll play it his way. Joe exits the ring and tosses a steel chair back in. Joe takes a seat in the chair and says RAW is now officially shut down until Reigns comes and apologizes to him in person. Joe counts to three but there’s no sign of Reigns. Joe says he’s got all night, all Reigns has to do is walk the aisle unless he’s scared to.

München – In an exclusive interview with SPORT1, he talks about sharing the cover with Becky Lynch and more.

How leukemia has changed his career:
“My perspective on myself is a little different. Before I was just sticking to the drill, busting my ass as hard as I could and in some situations putting myself on the backburner, just worried about everybody I provide for, in my family and my life. Now I have to kind of remind myself to listen to my body, to look where I am with my health. You can’t take any chances on that while you also want to capitalize on the potential that God has given me. I don’t have too many years left being the athlete that I am right now, so I really wanna maximize the opportunities that I have in the few years I have left. When it’s all said and done nobody should be able to say that I didn’t kill it.”

Whether he would be mad if fans would boo him again:
“Nah, I don’t care what they do in this case. They paid their money – their hard-earned money – to get to the show. They can do what they wanna do. Everybody’s situation is different, we enjoy every way our fans are expressing themselves. As long as you make noise, it doesn’t matter to me if it’s cheers or boos. The last thing I want is silence, fans sitting on their hands – ‘anyone want some popcorn?’: That’s bad for a performer. I’ve always had the ability to rub people one way or the other. As long as that continues – heavy cheers, polarizing reaction, heavy boos: I’m all for it.”

Whether he really is the locker-room leader:
“I think so. At times leaders don’t call themselves leaders but everyone knows who the leader is. I take great pride in the continuity of what we do. Whether it’s in the locker room, whether it’s adequate respect, treating people how you wanna be treated all the way to respecting what we do when performing and not taking away from other performers.

Roman Reigns talks to ESPN | Interview

by admin/August 05, 2019/No Comments/ 163 views

Roman Reigns announced in October on Monday Night Raw that he had leukemia and would be stepping away from WWE. The news came as a shock to the fanbase and even those within the WWE.

Over the past 10 months, Reigns’ cancer was treated (he’s now in remission), he returned in time to perform at WrestleMania, and he won an ESPY for best WWE moment. On Monday, it was announced that Reigns would be on the cover of the WWE 2K20 video game alongside Becky Lynch. The game drops on Oct. 22.

It has been a scary, wild, fulfilling and motivational year for Reigns. ESPN caught up with the former WWE Universal and world heavyweight champion to talk about 2K20, his recovery from leukemia, teaming with The Undertaker, controversy around Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose, and more.

ESPN: You were in L.A. for the ESPYS, winning that award, a few weeks ago, and now you’ll be on the cover of WWE 2K20. Is there any special significance to these recent accolades, considering what you went through just a short time ago?

Reigns: To be honest, man, all I really wanted to do was be healthy — be able to get back in the ring and wrestle. I just wanted to be able to do the art form that my family has been doing for decades. And I just wanted to be healthy for my children. That was the only award or reward that I needed.

I just hope that it just continues to raise that awareness. All these different events, it’s just another platform for me to tell my story and hopefully raise a bit of awareness and hopefully give maybe just one person a shred of hope. It’s not just cancer, blood cancer. It’s anything, from depression to all kinds of different struggles that we’re all dealing with.
